The Hypoport SE Management Board

The Group Management Board is responsible for the corporate strategy of the Group as a whole and manages its operational implementation.

Ronald Slabke, graduate in business administration (BA)

Chief Executive Officer

Ronald Slabke, born in 1973, studied business administration in Dresden and began his professional career as an account manager at Westdeutsche ImmobilienBank. In 1996, he joined Dr. Klein, then a mortgage broker specialising exclusively in the housing sector, as assistant to the managing director. Under his aegis, Dr. Klein became the first online mortgage broker for retail clients at the start of 1999. At the end of 1999, he organised a management buyout of Dr. Klein and took over the running of the firm. In 2001, Dr. Klein merged with Europace to become Hypoport AG. As Co-CEO on the Hypoport Management Board, Ronald Slabke was responsible for sales and marketing and for the technical development of EUROPACE and of the private clients business. In 2007, Hypoport was listed in the Prime Standard segment of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (Deutsche Börse AG).

As CEO since 2010, Ronald Slabke has been shaping Hypoport‘s strategic expansion, and is also responsible for the Credit Platform segment.

Stephan Gawarecki, graduate in business administration

Member of the Management Board

Stephan Gawarecki, born in 1969, studied business administration, specialising in insurance, before taking up a management position with Deutscher Ring in 1998, where he worked in building finance product management until 2000. In 2000, he joined the internet portal FinanceScout24, where he developed the insurance business unit and, as Products & Sales Director, was responsible for the insurance, lending and investments product areas. In September 2004, Stephan Gawarecki became a member of the Management Board of Dr. Klein (now Dr. Klein Privatkunden AG) responsible for the Private Clients unit (insurance, financing, investment). At the start of 2018 he moved to the Supervisory Board of Dr. Klein Privatkunden AG.

Stephan Gawarecki has been a member of the Management Board of Hypoport SE since June 2010, with responsibility for the Private Clients and Insurance Platform segments.

The Hypoport SE Supervisory Board

The Supervisory Board appoints the members of the management board which it monitors and advises on the running of the company. In accordance with sections 95 and 96 of the German Stock Corporation Act it has three members who are elected at the Annual Shareholders‘ Meeting.

All the current members of the Supervisory Board are considered independent under the definition provided in clause C.6 to C.12 of the German Corporate Governance Code.

Dieter Pfeiffenberger

Chairman of the Supervisory Board

Dieter Pfeiffenberger was born in 1957. Following an ADG diploma in banking administration, he held a range of positions at DSL Bank, BHW Bausparkasse AG and Deutsche Postbank AG between 1991 and 2017, ultimately as Head of Mortgage Finance for Deutsche Postbank AG.

Dieter Pfeiffenberger has been a member of the Supervisory Board of Hypoport SE since 2018, and its Chairman since May 2019.

He is considered an independent member under the definition provided in clause C.6 to C.12 of the German Corporate Governance Code.

Roland Adams

Roland Adams

Vice Chairman of the Supervisory Board

Roland Adams, born in 1959, gained a degree in psychology after studying psychology and economics, and then worked in international consumer brand marketing for a subsidiary of Unilever Germany from 1987 to 1989. From 1989 to 2005, he worked as a consultant at international management consultancy Droege & Comp., where he set up a centre of competence for financial services and spent more than ten years advising almost all of Germany’s leading banks and a number of insurance companies, first as a partner and later as a senior partner. Since 2006 he has pursued a career as a freelance business consultant through Roland Adams Top Management Consulting, based in Düsseldorf.

Roland Adams has been a member of the Supervisory Board of Hypoport SE, and its Vice Chairman, since 2015.

He is considered an independent member under the definition provided in clause C.6 to C.12 of the German Corporate Governance Code.

Martin Krebs

Martin Krebs, born in 1968, followed his degree in business studies by working for a number of investment banks between 1991 and 2003. In 2003 he joined ING-DiBa, where he was a member of the management board from 2006 to 2015, with responsibilities including the areas of M&A/corporate development and corporate customer business. From 2016 to March 2019, as Global Head of Retail Investment Products and Savings for the ING Group, he was responsible for establishing digital asset management at ING-DiBa.
Martin Krebs has been a member of the Supervisory Board of Hypoport SE since May 2019.

He is considered an independent member under the definition provided in clause C.6 to C.12 of the German Corporate Governance Code.

In addition, Martin Krebs meets the provisions of section 100 (5) of the German Stock Corporation Act (AktG) regarding the need for expertise in the fields of accounting or auditing.
